Building a Community through Gardening

First class, “Gardening 101” by Purdue Extension will be Tuesday, March 6 at 4702 South East Street, Bethany Lutheran Church, (Southwest corner of intersection of I-465 and U.S.31). Community Meal at 6 p.m. and class for beginning or experienced gardeners starts at 6:30 p.m.
  • Servant’s Heart, a Chamber member, is one of two food pantries that will be receiving food from the Bethany Community Garden.
  • Helping to address the food scarcity need by Purdue Extension providing educational class to encourage people to have backyard gardens, their own individual Bethany garden plot, or helping with the Bethany Community Garden.
  • All vegetables from Bethany Community Garden given to those who help in the garden, Servant’s Heart and Hunger, Inc. food pantries.
  • Starting mid-April, Tuesday evening, 6 p.m., neighborhood gathering to help in the Bethany Community Garden with community meal provided on the third Tuesday of each month from April to September.
