Indiana Members Credit Union Contributes $2,796 to Beech Grove City Schools

Indiana Members Credit Union (IMCU) recently presented a check for $2,796 to Beech Grove City Schools School as part of an ongoing school spirit debit card program. The partnership allows Beech Grove fans the opportunity to show their school spirit and support the athletic program by signing up for a Beech Grove Hornets themed debit card. Every time the card is used as a signature based transaction, Beech Grove athletics benefits. The more cards that are in use, the larger the contribution. Career Readiness businesses needed

Beech Grove High School seniors in the ENG 12 CR class are preparing for life after high school and their teacher needs help from local businesses. During the last month of school, seniors are required to update their professional documents, including a job application, and complete an interview with a local Beech Grove business owner. The class is looking for local businesses to visit their class between May 5-19 to share the following: Talk about your job and daily work life Pros/cons of being in the business/industry What makes/doesn't make you hire someone What skills and traits do you look for interviews After talking with the students, the students then will choose one business owner speaker to use for their final. Greater Beech Grove Chamber of Commerce Scholarship

The Greater Beech Grove Chamber of Commerce is honored to offer two $500 scholarships to two deserving seniors from Beech Grove High School. To be considered for the scholarship, applicants must submit all required materials no later than Fri., March 31, and the scholarship recipients will be notified and announced by May 1. Eligibility Criteria: Senior at Beech Grove High School At least a 3.0 GPA Plan to pursue a 4-year degree or 2-year/vocational degree Attend an Indiana college or university Enroll as a full-time student (as defined by institution) Application Checklist:  Personal information Essay (350-400 words) answering the question: How will my college education impact my local community? Beech Grove High School is having a friendly challenge against Lutheran High School. This is the fourth year for the event, and is a challenge to see which school has more customers visit Chick-fil-A between January 23-27, to support their school. The winning school gets a portion of the sales earned throughout the week. Businesses interested in catering can have their amount benefit Beech Grove High School as well.  When ordering, please say that their amount goes to Beech Grove.

Do you enjoy reading stories? What about reading to kids? The principals at Hornet Park and Central Elementary schools are looking for business professionals interested in taking 20-30 minutes out of their day to visit a classroom and read a story to students in grades K-3. We will work with the Beech Grove Branch library to find a book(s) that relates to volunteer's line of work. Those interested should contact, Paige Anderson or the Chamber for more info.
